THE WHY 

Scripps News' "The Why" is a deep dive into the big social, cultural and political topics of the day through hyper-visual explanatory journalism. Working with the show, Melina reported on multiple stories, ranging from real estate to health and lifestyle. She reported in the field and delivered multiple stories.  

 

As a producer,  she conducted interviews, wrote explainer scripts and tracked stories. During her time with the team, Melina also produced two full shows on gender disparities in homeownership and on the effectiveness of mental health apps.
